Elluminate VCS - RETN Videoconferencing Desktop Solution

Elluminate VCS (VCS) is our new, next generation of videoconferencing.  It is a server-based application and with a client download turns a typical desktop computer into a desktop videoconferencing system. Please note that this is a different product than Elluminate Live! for webinars.

Benefits of VCS

It is important to note that the collaboration tools are only operational during VCS to VCS connections and are not available to the H.323 connections.

Important Features

Elluminate VCS pricing for RETN member districts

Individual:
RETN offers individual desktop memberships to districts that already have a full RETN membership.

Individual desktop membership is specifically for use by a designated person and may not be used in a group setting.  Training will be provided to each individual receiving a membership.

Annual Individual Desktop Membership Fee:
$250
Annual Individual VCS License Fee:
$100
Total:
$350

Classroom:
VCS can be set up as a classroom or video conferencing system. A full RETN membership will be required for this type of implementation. Districts wishing to do this will need to provide a dedicated computer and purchase the necessary required(*) components such as camera, microphone, and speakers system that are specified by RETN. The person managing the system will be required to attend training.

Annual RETN Membership Fee:
$500
Annual VCS License Fee for the Classroom:
$200
Total:
$700

*Required VCS Classroom component package from RETN includes pan/tilt/zoom camera with a remote, wireless tabletop microphone, echo-cancelling speaker, and installation. The estimated cost is $1500 to $2000. RETN is researching the possibility of providing the above solution as a package. The district would be responsible for providing an adequate computer, media cart, monitor or projector, power strips, and any additional parts needed to complete the system. The RETN staff will assist districts wanting to do this on a case-by-case basis.
